    Cockroaches

Resilient invaders that spread disease and trigger allergies.

    Overview

American cockroaches and Turkestan cockroaches are common outdoor-originating species in Arizona. These resilient pests reproduce rapidly and can spread bacteria, contaminate food, and trigger asthma.

    Identification

    • American: reddish-brown, up to 2 inches
    • Turkestan: dark brown/black, outdoor species
    • Fast-moving with long antennae

    Behavior

Cockroaches are nocturnal and prefer warm, moist environments. They typically enter from outdoors through plumbing penetrations, garages, and sewer access points. They reproduce rapidly when established.

    Risks

Cockroaches spread E. coli, Salmonella, and other pathogens. Their droppings and shed skins are major allergens and asthma triggers, especially for children.

    Prevention

    • Fix plumbing leaks and reduce moisture
    • Store food properly and clean regularly
    • Take out trash frequently
    • Seal gaps around pipes and utility lines

    Treatment

Hydra uses gel baits, insect growth regulators (IGRs), and targeted crack-and-crevice treatments. For severe infestations, we implement multi-visit treatment plans.
